Over 20 houses gutted in massive fire in Assam’s Baksa

Properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the fire.
A massive fire broke out in Kharija Bijni area of Baksa district last night during which as many as 20 houses were razed to the ground.
As per input, the fire broke out following a short circuit at around 10 pm which led to the blaze.
Locals informed the fire brigade which reached the spot along with the Labdanguri police and contained the fire.
Properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the fire.
Meanwhile, no casualties or injuries as a result of the major fire have been reported so far.
The police have begun investigation into the incident to ascertain the actual reason behind the blaze.
Further details in connection with the matter are awaited.
Last year, on November 12, properties worth lakhs of rupees were gutted and one person was killed after a massive fire broke out in the Jorabat area in Kamrup district.
