Litina Aye, a 25-year-old shooter from Nagaland has achieved remarkable success in athletics, defying all odds with her relentless determination and persistence. She has a huge list of achievements, some of which came at the national and regional level and is looking to add more gold to her cabinet in the games.
Her story proved the old saying ‘where there is a will, there is always a way’ and inspired many to pursue their dreams.
Since, there is a lack of shooting ranges and things became difficult to continue for her to follow her passion in Nagaland, she has moved to Meghalaya in April and have been training here since then. She has also taken part in the state and Northeast level events in Shooting.
She has represented the East Khasi Hills district in shooting in the recently concluded 2 day Meghalaya Games 2023.
25-year-old Litina was born in Kohima, Nagaland and began a career in shooting while she was in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in school.
While Aye was on the lookout for opportunities, it soon came knocking at her doorstep after her friend from Shillong got involved in the same sport.
For Litina Aye, there was no looking back as Meghalaya government and associations gave her as well as other shooters, ample amount of opportunities due to which she regards the state as her pride.
Commenting on her sport, Aye said that while her sport seemed easy but it required a lot of calm under pressure along with constant practice.
Speaking on the 5th edition of the Games in Tura, she felt the government’s impetus for the town needed to be praised.
Aye further thanked the Meghalaya government for providing opportunities for her and her compatriots to take up the sport and hoped the same continued.
