Tripura CM lauds state police for low crime rate in state

The CM also praised the police for their dedicated efforts to reduce road accidents and promote safe driving practices.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, who also serves as the Home Minister of the state, has commended the exemplary performance of Tripura Police in reducing crime rate and improving the overall law and order situation in the state.

Saha who attended the Police Week 2024 celebrations in Agartala today said that Tripura ranks third in the country for the lowest crime rate and credited the police for this achievement.
Speaking to reporters after reviewing a parade, he said that crimes against women has shown a substantial reduction in 2023 in comparison to 2022.

The Chief Minister credited the police for their successful operations, including the seizure and destruction of a substantial quantity of drugs. He also acknowledged their relentless efforts in apprehending traffickers over the past year, further contributing to the enhancement of the state’s security.
Addressing concerns about infiltration, Chief Minister Saha assured the public that the state police, in collaboration with other state and central agencies, is actively countering and aiming to curb Rohingya and human trafficking from Bangladesh.

He also acknowledged the police’s dedicated efforts to reduce road accidents and promote safe driving practices.

Saha further added that the police forces are adopting new technologies to combat and prevent cyber crimes.

Chief Minister Saha paid tribute to police martyrs and presented awards to distinguished police personnel in various categories during the event.
