Three killed after vehicle falls into gorge in Sikkim’s Yangang

At least three people were killed and one suffered injuries in a road accident when the vehicle they were travelling in fell into a gorge in Sikkim’s Namchi.

The incident took place on Friday night in Yangang area in the district.

As per inputs, the accident occured around midnight when the vehicle was on its way to Neeya Village from Singtam.

The deceased have been identified as Lakpa Sherpa (45), Sonam Sherpa (50) and Palden Sherpa (16).

The injured person identified as Thupden Sherpa has been rushed to Yangang Public Health Center.

As per inputs, all the 3 deceased are locals.

Sikkim Police are at the spot and have begun their probe into the accident.

Earlier, on November 27, two people were killed in a road accident on National Highway 10 in Sikkim.

Their bodies and their vehicle were fished out from the Teesta river in Likhubhir.
