Sikkim: CM Tamang interacts with public in Zoom- Salghari constituency till past midnight

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang commenced his two-day Jan Bhet Karyakram for Zoom-Salghari constituency yesterday at 2nd IRBn Headquarter
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang is on a whirlwind tour to different parts of Sikkim with the aim of resolving issue faced by the public. Prior to the assembly `elections likely to be held in April, the Sikkim CM is looking to deliver as to what has been promised by his party SKM before attaining power.
As part of the SKM government’s “Aangan Mein Prashaashan” (Government At Doorstep), Chief Minister Tamang interacted with the people in the Zoom- Salghari constituency under Soreng district.
Without caring for the consequences of what working at a continous stretch of 24 hours might lead to, the Sikkim Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the people since 8 AM till 12 AM midnight.

SKM spokesperson Yougan Tamang regarding the Chief Minister’s Jan Bhet program said, “The Chief Minister has come to the ground zero to actually meet the citizens of this constituency for understanding their need and give them instant solution because we cannot run away from responsibilities, that’s for sure. There were some challenges in the past may be due to natural calamities and a lot of other things happened during this 4 and a half years during the SKM government like the Teesta floods, COVID. There are lot of things which citizens could not meet certain need on particular times. I think it was very necessary to come on the ground zero and understand the needs and problems and go for a solution policy.”
There are lot of loopholes set in the past so under the present government we are trying to meet up every possible problem and solving that by meeting the citizens. There are lot of issues which needs to be addressed and the Chief Minister has been addressing so far.”
The two-day interactive program would be inclusive, benefitting the people of the constituency, CM Tamang assured. On the first day the Chief Minister enumerated several developmental projects which have been either approved or under initial stage such as conversion of Mabong-Segeng into a model village, roof- water harvesting for homes under Forest Department, Gyandil Guru Dham project at Gelling, and construction of Peacock park. Adding to this, CM Tamang also highlighted the importance of organizing the age old celebration of upcoming Jorethang Maghey Mela.
The Chief Minister also distributed medical assistance cheques to 18 beneficiaries and Laptops to college students. He assured that further such financial and non-financial incentives would be provided to genuine and needy people.
